iMVS provides a user-assisted building extraction system that enables the efficient generation of 3-D models of buildings from aerial images. Rather than a standard interactive system where the user must do all the work, iMVS relies on the user for assistance to an automatic system that uses multiple images to perform the 3-D computations. This enables user interactions with a single 2-D image, but with the 3-D capabilities of a standard stereo modeling system.

iMVS has being incorporated as a plug-in to the ERDAS IMAGINE system of Leica Geosystems. This opens up building extraction to images in almost any format, especially new high-resolution satellite data.
