I will present in this talk an overview of the research activities of Willow, a team I head at Ecole Normale Sup¨Śrieure and INRIA in Paris. Our work focuses on computer vision and machine learning, and I will discuss some recent results in 3D photography and markerless motion capture from multiple synchronized and calibrated video streams, as well as a new discriminative approach to sparse image coding and its application to feature selection, edge and object detection, texture classification, and handwritten digit recognition. Joint work with Francis Bach, Yasutaka Furukawa, Julien Mairal, Guillermo Sapiro, and Andrew Zisserman.
