From Computer Vision to Interaction -- 10+ Years of Vision Systems
Prof. Alexandre R.J. Francois
Abstract
This talk retraces my 10+ year journey in Computer Vision research, through
object recognition, 3-D modeling from a single image, colorimetric and 2-D
geometric manipulation of image regions, video analysis and visual
interaction. This journey began in the mid-to-late 90's, and surfed the wave
of evolution of hardware and software tools available to computer vision
researchers. This evolution shaped my approach to designing and implementing
demonstration software systems. It ultimately defined my approach to
addressing vision problems and formulating solutions in a dynamic framework,
which is the core of my current research.
