I am a computer vision researcher at IRIS (Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems), USC. My research includes 3D face/body modeling, aerial video analysis, and computational geometry.
I studied physics (B.S.), cognitive science (M.S.), and computer engineering (Ph.D.) at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. From 1999 to 2003, I was the director of research center of Dream Mirh Co. Ltd., where we developed face recognition algorithms. This technology was transferred to a company (Korea Identification Inc.) and the systems are being deployed at some interesting places such as Incheon international airport. From 2004 to 2006, I was a research assistant professor at ISRC (Intelligent Systems Research Center, Sungkyunkwan University. Our 3D sensing team invented signal separation coding for structured light systems.
