Jongmoo Choi received the B.S. degree in Physics, the MS. degree in Cognitive Science and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, S. Korea.  From 1999 to 2003, he was the director of research center of Dream Mirh Co. Ltd., where he developed face recognition algorithms and SDKs for applications such as machine readable travel documents and biometric entrance management systems. The technology has been transferred to Korea Identification Inc. and is being employed many important places such as Incheon International Airport, and the Korea National Policy Office. From 2004 to 2006, he was a research assistant professor at the Intelligent Systems Research Center, Sungkyunkwan University, S. Korea. He led a 3D sensing platform team that invented 3D robotic sensors based on signal separation coding. Since October 2006, he has been a post doctoral research fellow at the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, University of Southern California, USA. He is working on recognition of non cooperative persons at a distance using 3-D face biometrics. Dr. Choi¡¯s current research interests include 3D face modeling from video, face recognition at a distance, indoors/outdoors 3D modeling for mobile robots, human robot interaction, multiple view geometry, and visual thinking machine.
